Requirements packages are gtk2-engines, gnome-themes-standard and gtk3-engines-unico. Use it for Gtk 3.4 only.

I figured it out finally. It's a bloody image. I commented the reference to it and now the menu is basically the same color as bg_color, which is fine, BUT, how the heck do you change the text color. I was able to change the Insensitive to a lite gray, but cannot seem to make the default Black text.

This theme is so easy on the eyes. Nothing blaring at me, no grays, nothing really all that bright and that is a plus for these old eyes.
So I have one question; How do you change the color of the background on the menus? I figured out how to do it for the Desktop context menu but the application menus escape me. For the life of me I cannot find where to change. I am a proverbial tweaker and have changed the theme a bit.

A little bit of feedback for the gtk3 version: the tabs have round borders, the inactive ones have shadow. The handle of sliders change their size when moving them.
